Lisa Nugent
Lisa Nugent is currently a Victim Advocate Supervisor of the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. She joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2005 as a Victim Advocate and has spent her career advocating for victims of crime. Her current assignment is with the Sex Crimes and Human Trafficking Division. She assists all victims of human trafficking and sexual assault and is a member if the Human Trafficking Task Force.
Presentation Overview
Victim Compensation Board is a state program dedicated to providing reimbursement for many crime related expenses to eligible victim who suffer physical injury or threat of physical injury as a direct result of crime. During this training, participants will learn the rules and guidelines and how DA Victim Advocates assist victims to apply for compensation.

Mr. Landon will speak on designer laws and why they are wrong.
*Alex Landon is a J.D., University of San Diego School of Law. He has been admitted to the California Bar since 1972, and is a Certified Specialist, Criminal Law, California Board of Legal Specialization since 1977. He is currently in private practice, and is an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law where he has taught 32 years and San Diego Law School, Alliant University 3 years. He is a member and past president of the San Diego Criminal Defense Bar Association, member and former president of the San Diego Criminal Defense Lawyers Club, the past president of the San Diego PsychLaw Society, and a member of the Board of Governors and past president of California Attorneys for Criminal Justice. He is the former Executive Director of the Defenders Program of San Diego Inc., and Community Defenders, Inc. He is a frequent seminar and workshop speaker.
